End of Fresher’s Week

Hey,

It’s Oct 11th at 12:30 am. It’s been a great freshers week. Here there’s a lot more focus on drinking, so I was at the pub almost every night – then out to a club afterwards. We’ve had our hall photo done, so I got to wear my gown (no pics of me in it yet, wait till next friday). As well there’s been nights like ‘Barn Dance,’ ‘Quiz Night,’ ‘Bar Olympics,’ ‘Kariokee,’ a ‘beach party.’ I’ve been on a pub crawl, and to two pretty cool pubs.

Went on a photo tour of Bristol on Saturday. It rained the whole time, but we had to take pictures of ourselves at Bristol landmarks – so it was good fun. I’ve got my photos up at my flickr site (hopefully it appears on my weblog).

What else have I done? I played goalie in a football match on the first day here – everyone here is amazing at soccer, but they said I was a pretty good keeper. I’ve played a few squash games, and showed a bunch of guys how to play ultimate frisbee this afternoon. I’ve been walking shitload, it’s 2.2 miles to campus, so you’re walking about 9 miles if you go twice to campus (not including the walking around campus). Everyone goes to the churches around campus here all week – religious or not – because they all have free lunch buffets which are amazing. ENGLAND IS REDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE! I’ve had about 5 unofficial lectures for medicine, and formal lectures start tomorrow at 9am. I’ve met load of people. My residence dining hall looks like Harry Potter. I really do miss home/family/friends. I am also having an amazing time. I hope to by a cellphone, but have not purchased one yet. I’m hoping to get the hang of this website and put a new photo up every day.
